The following are products I personally endorse--in other words, I tried them and I liked them. Many are hard to find in the states, as they are sold primarily in their country of origin. But thanks to the internet, when I get hooked on a certain coffee or cocoa, I can find a seller and share it with you!

I was never much of a coffee drinker--a little Starbucks now and then, but that was all.  That was all, until I spent a week in the Dominican Republic. During my stay at Hotel Blue JackTar, Cafe Santo Domingo was served con leche (with milk) each morning at breakfast. I soon grew accustomed to its rich, smooth taste.  I learned from a resident friend that it is grown and processed right there in the Dominican Republic, and the locals refer to it as "my coffee." As it is not carried in chain stores in the U.S. (at least not where I live), it is highly sought after by coffee connoisseurs. So, I stocked up at the Dominican grocery store La Sirena and brought home a suitcase full of the stuff for myself, family, and friends.  But alas, after about a month my pound of coffee was running out...and I felt like I couldn't live without the stuff.  Thanks to Amazon, I don't have to live without "my coffee," and neither do you.  You won't be disappointed by its smoothness and lack of bitter aftertaste.  Have a cup with a little milk or cream--I don't even sweeten it, and that's saying something, coming from a traveler who previously indulged only in highly sweetened, fru-fru coffee drinks.
